Chassis Friendly

Ultra Racing strut bars are being designed to absorb the impact and minimizing the possible damages due to the chassis in an event of collision. With promising characteristic, Ultra Racing strut bars will not only provide solid handling but also a shield to the passengers.

Ultra Racing strut bar’s material are first being carefully selected, the brackets are being constructed by steel plates with the thickness of 4mm – 5mm in order to provide a strong brackets which would be able to hold each corner with strong holding power hence providing a solid and responsive handling.

Secondly the hollow steel tubes and oval tubes are being constructed with the size of only 1.2mm to 1.6mm of thickness which would not affect the handling delivered to the vehicle while impact can be absorbed without causing damage to the opposite side where the collision happens.

Case Study : Hyundai Atos real-world crash impact pictures

Ultra Racing Bar crumpled from absorbing the impact minimize damage to car, extensive R&D taken to the test in the real world ! Our Hyundai Atos 4 point bar helped absorbed the crash impact & prevent further damage to the car. The same cannot be said of the other car !

Case Study : Lower Arm Bar is bent but did’nt compromise the chassis

The is a real example of our Proton Wira LAB before & after a severe crash that bent the LAB. As you can see from the comparison photo, the geometry of the brackets hasn’t compromised chassis as many sceptics thought it would. This is a result of extensive R&D with materials & design by our technical team.

Case Study : Perodua Myvi front Bar before and after accident but did’nt affect the other side / left side

This MyVi crashed into a cow and was badly damaged and the unfortunate cow became beef! Despite the extensive damage to the car, the driver wasn’t hurt and our bar absorbed the crash, yet not even affecting the other side. After repairs, the owner fitted a new UltraRacing strut bar, and it fitted perfectly! Showing the chassis is still intact.

Chassis Principle

A vehicle’s chassis is the main structures of a vehicle where all the other components are being fasten to the frame. Each vehicle’s attribute were being designed to satisfy the requirements of a desired group of end users. It may look strong by judging on its look but in fact it’s the other way round. Being exposed the most to the exterior elements which are the main explanation to chassis damage.

Making things plain, below are the few issues where the explanation will be conducted on chassis flex or chassis failure and possible consequences:

Normal passenger cars

Being the most out of street vehicles, normal passenger cars were being formed for a few common goals and comfort is one of them. In order to achieve this, a set of street use suspension and soft spring rate will be fitted. While maintaining the level of comfort, the vehicle would be sacrificing its ride handling. The vehicle tends to increase in body roll especially during emergency stops which contribute more forces to the front, resulting in poor steering response, stopping power and even result in accidents.

Defects from rain water

Weather is another top killer to vehicle’s chassis; rain water which consists of acidic content would be damaging chassis components which include the rubber bushing on lower arm and bring the vehicle’s handling to an end. Unwanted noise will also been generated whenever the vehicle travels on uneven roads.

Vehicles with modifications

Vehicles are those which have been upgraded with aftermarket parts and components in order to change and enhance its properties. Unlike some of the sports car which were being designed with more welding points on the chassis frame in order to withstand the engine’s weight and the ability to resist vehicle bodyroll, normal street cars with medications such as suspension upgrade and engine transplant definitely cannot perform exactly like a sports car.

Aftermarket suspension

Aftermarket suspension such as a set of coilover is usually a replacement when the old absorber suffers from leakage or a common aftermarket modification for drivers seeking for more advanced handling and height adjustment option. However handling characteristic which doesn’t depend on the center of gravity and this is why numerous users were not be able to achieve their primary mission in increasing their car’s handling thus putting themselves in danger with the improper combination and adjustment later on. Further more, stiff suspension is going to overload the chassis more which is one of the reasons in chassis failure.

Engine Transplant

Due to the weight of the engine and the high engine output which was not meant for the vehicle chassis, the overloaded chassis frame will be suffering from cracking on welding joint from time to time. As consequences, there would be resulting a lot unwanted noise whenever the vehicle travels on uneven road surface which greatly reduces the level of comfort and handling of the vehicle.
